Okay, okay, so this is MY house.  But you really need to see the before pictures (coming soon)!  We started with what you might say (if you were nice) was an older, "eclectic", ranch style sort of thing.  I have always liked the craftsman style for it's builderly look, simple elegance, and open plans and the existing house leant itself toward that.  Just for the record, except for the roofing, I did nearly all of the work on this house solo with the occasional exception of help from my wife of limitless patience.  This includes building all of the interior and entry doors, cabinets, the concrete countertops and all of the interior and exterior finishes with the exception of carpet and the vintage linoleum.  So I'm not an architect that doesn't get his hands dirty!
