WAINIKELI LIBRARY

My father-in-law, Norm Hines, a sculptor and retired art professor from Pomona College has lived part time on Taveuni Island in Fiji since 1987.  My first trip there was in 1994, not long after meeting my then wife-to-be Kate.  We returned several times and were married there in 1999.  We have had the great pleasure of knowing many of the locals, many U.S., Aussie, and Kiwi expatriates among them.  Some time ago, they started a rotary club to help establish some much needed public services, buildings, and events.  I was honored to be asked to do some drawings for a public library, one of hopefully several to come on the island.  Not something that will win me the Pritzker Prize I imagine but very gratifying pro-bono work nonetheless.  Please visit the Taveuni Rotary Club website.
